Falls Overlook Cafe is temporarily closing for a remodel.

The restaurant is installing sound panels to help dampen the noise in the facility.

The sound panels are just the first step towards doing dinner theatre at the restaurant.

Rhonda Milstead, who took over the cafe in May, said she has always wanted to add theater to the restaurant and needed the sound issue fixed.

“That building needs to be used. It’s a piece of Sioux Falls history,” she said.

The restaurant will be closed Oct. 12-27 to move kitchen appliances, complete electrical work and install sound panels on the walls.

As for her new fall menu, she is planning on a pork loin and provolone sandwich, a beef black and blue panini, a dressed-up chicken salad, a brisket sweet potato item, a kale salad and a soup bar with six soups daily.

The restaurant reopens Oct. 28.  The new hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
