DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) - Four landowners along Highway 85 between Deadwood and Spearfish want about 700 acres of property annexed into the city of Deadwood.

The Black Hills Pioneer reports that the Deadwood City Commission accepted the petition of annexation this week. Commissioners also approved the group's development agreement for the property, which runs roughly from Tatanka to McMaster's Corner.

Finance Officer Mary Jo Nelson says a resolution of intent to annex will be presented at a June 17 public hearing, allowing people to come and voice their concerns.
