Kris Kristofferson is the greatest songwriter of the past 50 years.

Okay, granted, that's just my opinion but nonetheless it's true.

I remember getting Kris' first album back in the waaay early 1970's. It included 'For The Good Times', 'Me and Bobby McGee', 'Help Me Make It Through The Night', 'Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down'...and for me, those weren't even his best songs!

I've always admired a great line in a song. Well, Kris would have 3 or 4 or 5 absolutely spectacular lines. From the first time I heard Kris (or maybe knew it was Kris' words i was hearing) I was hooked. From his work, I started getting into people like Shel Silverstein, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ed Bruce, Bob McDill, Sonny Throckmorton and...well, on and on.

Here's the man talking about his incredible life and career, including what is the most famous helicopter landing in country music history!
