One thing I don’t do enough of: karaoke. It’s an absolute blast. In fact, if I could do anything in the world, I would be a singer. I’m talking full-on pop music-style with backup dancers and super fun effects on stage. Karaoke is one way I can get up there and somewhat experience what it would feel like for 3 minutes.

However, I don’t think I’ve ever had a magical performance that has stunned a crowd. But this couple certainly did, while at a gas station.

When The Jay Leno Show was still on air, one of the more popular segments was  ‘Pumpcast News.’ This was where an actor on a TV screen would target un-knowing adults who were minding their own business pumping gas. This happened at a Costco in Burbank, CA.

Will Sims and his wife Monifa were two of those people. This fun couple was asked to sing a song to the TV screen above the gas tank, and it was aired on the show.

I have to give my dad credit for coming across this video online a few years ago. It has become one of my favorite web clips of all time, for it puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

The only thing that bums me out about it is that I was never discovered by the Leno group. I just happened to live in Burbank and frequently purchased gas at this very Costco Gas Station. I guess I’ll have to result to the occasional karaoke moment at a local bar, instead.

Since the video came out, there have been reports of it being a ‘fraud’ online.

Either way, the couple absolutely killed it. Do you think it’s for real? Or do you think they were paid actors?

I don’t want to ruin their moment, so watch for yourself:
