Don't you hate it when this happens? Kansas State University officials have apologized for a marching band routine during Saturday night’s season opener against the University of South Dakota.

The theme of the halftime show was supposedly “space” and involved scenes from Star Trek and Star Wars.  At some point the Wildcats marching band seemingly went for an adult-oriented formation.

During one formation, the Kansas State marching band formed the Kansas mascot and what was supposed to be the starship Enterprise crashing into it.

This is where things went south.  The spaceship wound up resembling male naughty bits entering the mouth of a marching formation Jayhawk.

Band director Frank Tracz issued a statement Sunday in which he said “there was absolutely no intent to display anything other than the Enterprise and the Jayhawk in battle.”

What do you think? (FYI: Kansas State beat USD 34-0)
