Disputed ownership of a tow truck Friday night touched off a melee that included three arrests, an attack by crow bar, and a warning shot.

Sergeant Jason Gearman of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says three people went to a rural junkyard near Hartford about 8:00 PM to retrieve a tow truck that 25 year-old Derek Rondeau of Sioux Falls believed was his.

“Gerald Gosmire who owned the land junkyard thought it was somebody else’s. The reason the shots were fired was because one of the victims was trying to stop the suspects from taking the tow truck.” A friend of Gosmire was the one who fired a gun in order to stop the fight.

It is believed that 21 year-old Jordan Almond of Brandon used a crow bar to strike one victim in the leg. Meanwhile 21 year-old Montana Ennenga also of Brandon beat the victim with his hands.

Rondeau was arrested on Gosmire’s property for Aggravated Assault. However Almond and Ennenga retreated to a house northeast of Brandon where they were found later and also charged with Aggravated Assault.

All three made a court appearance on Monday.
