Jake Owen is bringing his Days of Gold Tour to the Swiftel Center in Brookings on March 20th. The show kicks off the tour that runs from March-October 2014. When deciding on where to start the tour, Owen says that the area wasn't hard to pick.

"The Upper Midwest has always been great to us. Me being from Florida, and the whole vibe of my tour and music has always been showing the fun times and the sunshine of where I came from, I'm sure you guys are a little chilly in your area and we hope to bring some sunshine."

With his new Days of Gold album released last December, Owen says that his tour will feature a good mixture of previous hits and his latest singles.

"I've been pretty fortunate for quite a few years to have a few hits on the radio. We'll be playing a lot of music off the new album but we'll fill in all the old-school records also. We plan on doing a cool medley of it all."

I had the opportunity to ask a few rapid-fire questions to Owen. They extended from working with Thomas Rhett, to what he listens to on his iPod while on tour.

"I listen to just about everything. You name it, it's probably on my iPod. I love all kinds of music, I think I might even own a Britney Spears album."

And for those that have never attended one of his concerts, Owen says to expect a great time.

"We're going to bring a really good time, hopefully some really good temperatures, and we'll turn up the heat in the arena."

Tickets for the show are still available through the Swiftel Center box office or online at ticketmaster.com.
