1985 was the first year of Farm Aid.

The event was held to raise money for family farmers and was the brainchild of Willie Nelson, John Mellancamp and Neil Young.  The event has been held nearly annually since then, but the first one was, well, more than just a fundraiser.

It was a musical event bringing together artist's from several genre's of artistry.

80,000 people attened, nearly $9 million was raised and the artist line-up ranged from Roy Orbison to Bob Dylan to Billy Joel.

Here, the legendary Johnny Cash team up with friend and fellow legend Waylon Jennings for perhaps Johnny Cash's most famous song.
