There are a few dates on the calendar that you circle way ahead of time. If you're involved in agriculture in South Dakota, Dakotafest has been on your mind for quite a while.

Dakotafest is back in Mitchell, South Dakota from August 15 to 17. The huge event opens at 9:00 AM daily and runs 9 to 5 Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 to 4 on Thursday. This year Dakotafest turns 21 years old and will celebrate with a new event Pig Racing.

Once again I'll be helping out in the Northwest Veterinary and Supply tent on the southwest corner of the grounds. I'm looking forward to seeing Jerry at the gate! When I get there Tuesday morning, Doc Barz and the crew will be buzzing around the tent getting things ready for the day.

I'll be broadcasting from the event all three days and will also MC the chute demonstrations in the tent. It's a great opportunity to learn about opportunities to make more money with your herd too. According to Doc Barz;

Stop by the Livestock Demo Tent and catch a chute demo if you are contemplating new equipment. Then sit on the bleachers and enjoy a free lunch while you learn about new technologies. Hey, I’ll bring you lunch and you can listen rather than stand in line and wait for a steak sandwich. That sounds like a win, win, sit-down, free lunch, education. Watch for listing a of speakers and topics to assure you are won’t miss the topics which are important to your operation.

I'm looking forward catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.

See you this week at Dakotafest in Mitchell!
