Ian Madsen Wins Huset’s [VIDEO]
Ian Madsen, of St. Mary’s, New South Wales, Australia, with a brilliant driving maneuver after getting caught up in a late race caution at the All Star race at Huset’s Speedway Sunday night. Madsen kept his #18 from coming to a stop after contact with a car stopped on the track.
He was leading with 2 laps to go when he drove into trouble in turn 4. In his successful attempt to keep his car rolling, Madsen even had to do a complete 360. Let’s take a look at it here on video:
Madsen maintained the lead for the restart of the final 2 laps and drove to victory. He had earned the lead passing Mark Dobmeier earlier on lap 12 of the 30 lap feature. This was Ian Madsen’s first ever victory at Huset’s. Here’s those final 2 laps:
One very scary moment of the 410 A feature was when Dusty Zomer flipped his #91 car on the front stretch. The car was in the air higher than the flag stand before crashing down onto the track. The crowd was relieved when he climbed out and walked away.
4 support classes were in competition at the July 21 race also. The winners were Kaleb Johnson in the micro sprints,Travis Schreurs in street stocks, Nick VanBelle in the b mods and Dylan Fitzpatrick in the hobby stocks. Complete results with photos of winners.
