Instead of a possible three years in jail only 45 days left to serve for a former Huron Middle School teacher.

Thomas Wendelgass was sentenced to 60 days in jail Tuesday on a possession of a controlled substance charge.  He has already served 25 days in the Beadle County Jail and Circuit Judge Jon Erickson tacked on another 45 days.

The former teacher and coach was also charged with dissemination of material harmful to a child.  However, Wendelgass was given credit for time served and was given a suspended sentence for the second charge.

Wendelgass is also on probation for four years and must not have contact with the now 17-year-old victim.
