Do you like to take your coffee black.  Do you have anger issues?  A new study says the way you take your coffee might be an indicator that you have psychopathic tendencies.

A psychopath is defined as an unstable and aggressive person. Researchers at Innsbruck University in Austria surveyed 500 men and women and this is what they concluded.

First, the subjects were shown a list of food and drink items categorized as bitter, sweet, salty and sour. Then using a 6 point system they rated foods like bacon, lemons, candy and coffee.

Then the participants were asked to fill out 4 personality questionnaires which measured their aggression levels and assessed personality traits of Machiavellianism, psychopathy and narcissism.

They also answered questions relating to the “Big 5” personality traits of openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.

Finally, they completed the “Comprehensive Assessment of Sadistic Tendencies.”  (Wasn't this the original title for "50 Shades of Grey"?)

The results of the study showed bitter taste preferences to be "positively associated with malevolent personality traits, with the most robust relation to everyday sadism and psychopathy.”

So if you see your co-worker taking a big pull off their giant cup of black coffee, you may just want to back off.
