Sioux Falls Police would really like to know who dumped some unwanted puppies over the weekend.  Fortunately for now the puppies are under someone’s watchful eye.

Late Monday afternoon the Sioux Falls Police Department sent out a press release regarding the Saturday discovery.

On Saturday, January 10, 2015, around 5:00 p.m. 6 newborn puppies were located inside a garbage bag that had been thrown into a trash can in the 700 block of West 21st Street.  The puppies were various shades of brown with some having brindle striping.  The puppies are a medium to large breed, possibly pitbull.  A male, described as being possibly Native American or Hispanic, wearing a brown Carhartt type coat and red cap, was seen leaving the area shortly before the puppies were located.  The puppies are alive, were treated and are being cared for.

Animal Control would like to speak with this individual and identify the owner of the puppies.  If you have any information on this case, please call Animal Control at 367-7000.

For now, let’s not immediately turn to torches, pitchforks or boiling oil.  Share what information you have to bring this case to a peaceful resolution.
