Horn Man Gets More than 24 Years in Reservation Assault Case

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — A South Dakota man has been sentenced to more than 24 years in prison after being convicted of seriously injuring a woman in 2008 on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation straddling the Dakotas.

Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says 37-year-old Stoney End Of Horn was sentenced this month on one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury for the beating and four unrelated counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

End Of Horn was convicted in September of second-degree murder for the fatal beating of Pauline Brave Crow, who died in June 2010 due to complications from the incident. But U.S. District Judge Charles Kornmann dismissed the murder conviction in October.

The Wakpala man's attorney, Terence Sutton, says his client will appeal the assault and sexual abuse convictions.
