VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Law enforcement officials in Clay County are continuing their homicide investigation into the drowning death of a 29-year-old woman from Sioux City, Iowa.

Alicia Hummel was found dead June 1 in the Missouri River near the boat dock at Myron Grove. An autopsy determined that her cause of death was drowning, but the body also had blunt force trauma to the head and incision wounds to the neck.

Clay County Sheriff Andy Howe tells The Equalizer officials at the department still talk about the case every day. He says the case remains active and hasn't gone cold, but he encourages anyone with information to come forward.

Howe says authorities haven't identified a specific suspect yet, but they are "paying a lot of attention" to several people as potential suspects.
