The usual story you hear, is that getting caught surfing the internet while on the job doesn't go well with the boss. However, according to studies, if the boss gave you a little break now and then to surf the net, it could make you a better worker.

The Internet might not be a time suck after all. A study shows web browsing could boost your work performance. This is the report based on an article in Women's Health. People had better focus and productivity after taking a 10-minute break to poke around online.

This is not to be confused with checking emails. Emails are often demanding in some way, and can actually increase stress levels.

We are talking about just relaxing and looking around at things of interest online to rejuvenate your mind.

Take this to the boss and ask for the time. Keep your mind sharp on busy days by taking a few virtual breaks.
