When your boss comes up to you and says the company has decided to 'move in another direction', well just pack up your bags. It's over.

And so it is with Keith Olbermann (again!).

I remember Olbermann and Dan Patrick on ESPN's Sportscenter years ago. They did a great job, had fun and in some measure, put 'Sportscenter' on the map. Even if you didn't like sports all that much, you like Keith and Dan.

But then, well, things went sour and Olbermann left. I saw he was on MSNBC and my fun sports guy had become a political commentator. And, at least for me, a bitter one. And apparently things went sour and he was gone.

He ended up with some news channel I'd never heard of and never saw. But he was only there for a short time and, say it with me, things went sour (again) and...you guessed it...he was gone.

But ESPN came calling again (or he called them, whatever) and he was back doing a sports themed show...for a while.

According to the Associated Press:

(AP) - ESPN says it's parting ways with Keith Olbermann as history repeats itself.
While praising Olbermann's late-night sports show on ESPN2, the network said Wednesday it has made "a business decision to move in another direction." It provided no details or further explanation for the program's cancellation, but wished him "nothing but the best."
It said the program, "Olbermann," will end sometime this month.
ESPN's announcement came two years after 56-year-old Olbermann returned to the network years after his tumultuous but star-making stint as a co-host of "SportsCenter" that ended bitterly in 1997.
In between, he abruptly quit his political talk show on MSNBC after eight years and joined Current TV but was taken off the air after just a year. He filed a lawsuit, which was settled out of court.

I don't know. Geez, some people just don't play well with others!
