Who is that long haired boy??

Well, he's the lead singer for the pop/country band Pure Prairie League. Or rather, he was. This future country music hall of famer joined the band in 1979 and was the primary voice on their Can't Hold Back album.

But of course all of us country fan's know him a whole lot better as the voice behind great classic's like 'Look At Us', 'Liza Jane', 'When I Call Your Name' the stirring 'Go Rest High On That Mountain' and so many more.

Yep, that long haired young fella is Vince Gill.

The Oklahoma native was a member of Pure Prairie League and was, in fact, invited to join Mark Knopfler's band Dire Straits (Vince respectfully declined but did work on Dire Straits albums).

So 'tis true, country music star's come up 'through the ranks' in many different ways. And this was the way of one of our favorite singers (and a world class guitarist!). Give a listen to Vince when he was a Pure Prairie Leaguer.
