Here’s a Chance to Learn About Running for Office
Some of the most influential and impact positions in our American Democracy are the office at the local level. Whether city council, school board or the state legislature, these positions can have direct effect on our community. In a country where we have government of, for and by the people; the people are needed to fill those positions. And, anyone can do it.
If you're new to the world of running for elected office, the folks from LEAD South Dakota (Leaders Engaged and Determined) are hosting a panel discussion to answer questions about running for and serving in office.
Called, What No One Tells You About Running for Office, the panel will talk about how running for public office fits into a person's life. How one balance having a family, a job, and other priorities.
Panelists confirmed for the event include former State Legislator and City Councilor Casey Murschel; Sioux Falls School Board member Kate Serenbetz Parker, and former State Legislator Angie Buhl O'Donnell.
The event is Saturday, March 11 at the Sioux Falls Design Center (108 W 11th Street, map), from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
