PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A judge is expected to set a new trial date Tuesday in the case of a 16-year-old Pierre boy charged with first-degree murder.

KCCR radio reports that a motions hearing for Braiden McCahren is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hughes County Circuit Court. McCahren's trial had been scheduled for Aug. 7, but it was postponed.

McCahren has pleaded not guilty in the Dec. 18 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Dalton Williams, as well as pointing a gun at a third 16-year-old boy who also was in the house at the time of the shooting. He's being tried as an adult, but the defense wants the crime moved to juvenile court.

McCahren remains in custody.
