Green Bay went with a bit of a surprise to some with their first round draft selection in the 2015 NFL Draft as they selected Damarious Randall, defensive back out of Arizona State.

I'm not surprised in the selection in the sense that the Packers don't have a good secondary and it was area of emphasis for the Packers heading into the draft.

The reason I think there is some reason for surprise from some is purely for the fact that he isn't a household name... yet.

Damarious Randall was the Sun Devils leading tackler a year ago with 106 tackles in 13 games. He has six interceptions and four forced fumbles in his two seasons with Arizona State.  He had transferred from a community college.

At Arizona State he played mainly safety in their defensive system.

A lot of scouts believe he may be the best ball hawker in this draft class and we know the Packers are hoping so too!
