Since Glenn Frey passed away this week at the age of 67, there have been touching tributes flooding in from all corners of the music world.

But it turns out, the founding member of The Eagles was much more than a musician. He dabbled in acting, but like a lot of rock stars over the years he had the dream of a day in the spotlight in the sports world.

But unlike a lot of rock stars who had visions of suiting up for the big game, Glenn's passion wasn't on the field, it was up in the broadcast booth, calling the action.

A self-described baseball fanatic, Glenn knew the game inside and out and loved to provide his own running commentary whenever he watched a game.

Finally in the summer of 1985, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer got to live out his dream alongside another Hall of Famer, baseball broadcasting great Vin Scully - the voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The day was June 23, 1985. The Dodgers were hosting the Houston Astros, and in the bottom of the third inning, Glenn got to try out his home run call, courtesy of a future member of the Sioux Falls Canaries, Pedro Guerrero.

In case you're wondering, Glenn Frey walked away from broadcasting undefeated.
