(AP) - Glen Campbell's wife is answering criticism from the singer's eldest daughter about the singer's care.

Campbell has Alzheimer's disease - and was recently moved from his family home to a long-term care facility. That upset Debby Campbell, who told Country Weekly magazine that she objected to the move - and was upset to have learned about it through news report.

But in an email to The Associated Press, Campbell's wife Kim says it was the singer's doctors who persuaded her to stop trying to care for Campbell at the family's home. She says it's "crushingly sad" to see her husband's mental faculties decline, but that a family feud over his care "does not help him." Campbell is 78 - and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011.
