No one could sing a drinkin' song like the Possum.

No one could sing a cheatin' song like the Possum.

No one could sing a broken hearted love song like the Possum.

OK, OK, let's just come right out and say it: No one could sing a country song like George Jones!

I gotta say, I've always though one of the, uh, corniest lines I've heard in a country song is 'With the blood from my body I could make my own still'. When I read that line on paper, I think 'There is no way...NO WAY...anyone could make that sound good in a song.

But of course, George not only makes it sound good...he makes it sound believable!

Country music history is filled with great drinkin' songs. Heck, if you took out the drinkin' and cheatin' and broken hearted classics, well, there wouldn't be much left! (But we could still go truckin'!)

Now, in case you're not familiar with George's 'makin' my blood into a still' classic, well, enjoy one of No Show Jones greatest classics, 'If Drinkin' Don't Kill Me' and listen to his reference to Tammy.
