One of my favorite actors was involved in a very scary accident while riding a motorcycle, actually a scooter. George Clooney is going to be OK after a close call that could have been life threatening.

It turns out Clooney's scooter accident in Italy was way more serious than everyone first thought. Because we've learned the actor became a human projectile after impact.

Sources say Clooney was doing 60 miles per hour when a car suddenly pulled in front of him and hit him head on. Clooney was thrown from his bike and his helmet shattered the car’s windshield. The force of the impact actually broke the helmet.

Our sources say Clooney was hurled thirty feet in the air, propelled over the car he hit. Clooney was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, treated and released. He's at home recovering. We're told none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Clooney is currently filming a new series, Catch 22, based on the classic novel by Joseph Heller.
