For any parent who has ever been to Disneyland or Disney World, all you have to say to get them to shutter is the words "It's A Small World."  If you've been there, you know what I'm talking about.

It's one of those Disney rides that's best to be enjoyed later in the day, because from that point on, until you go to bed at night, the "Small World" song will be stuck in your head.  It's one of those attractions you hate to love - but one you have to ride!

That legendary ride turns 50 years old today.  The attraction first opened on this date in 1964 as part of the New York World's Fair.  It actually opened as a tribute to peace and hope and was designed by Walt Disney himself.

Today the ride can be found at Disney parks in California, Florida, Japan, France and Hong Kong.
