Another list has arrived and the University of South Dakota finds itself ahead of every other school in the Dakotas.

Forbes produced the list of top 650 colleges in the United States based on what students get out of college, including satisfaction,  post-graduate success, student debt, graduation rate, academic success and how each school ranked the past three years. USD ranked 411th in the country, and is one of three South Dakota schools to be ranked.

Augustana College ranks right behind USD at 423. South Dakota State also was not far behind at 483. Our neighbors to the north are right between USD and SDSU. The University of North Dakota ranks at 444, while North Dakota State University sits at 452.

15 schools from Minnesota rank higher than USD. The highest ranked school in the area is Carleton College in Minnesota ranked at 30.

Pomona College in Claremont, California was the top ranked school this year.
