My trip to Las Vegas this past weekend was the best Vegas trip that I have experienced. Here are five new experiences that I had while in Sin City.

Next time you take a trip to the playground that is Las Vegas, give these a try. And for the love of everything, just avoid White Castle. Seriously...

    White Castle is Overrated

For all that I heard about White Castle, I anticipated that my experience there would be much different. I mean, there was even a movie released about going to the fast food joint. What I found instead is that it is the most overrated food place, and is beyond disgusting. I wouldn't spend another penny there. Better yet, I'd rather scarf down a McDonald's burger (and I never eat McDonald's).

    Blue Man Group is Amazing

I didn't know what to expect when my group wanted to go see the Blue Man Group. I've heard a great amount of positive reviews, but wasn't sure if it would be a show that I would enjoy. I was quite surprised at the end of it when I thought that I could immediately see it again. It was amazing. I would highly recommend the show to anyone.

    Rain in the Desert

108 degrees is rather hot. That was about the consistent temperature on my trip. It did take us by surprise when a rain shower decided to come through. Locals in Vegas started freaking out even. Didn't see much lightning, but it was a nice rain. A taxi driver even told us that if it would have rained for just 30 minutes more, parts of Vegas would have flooded. Oh, and they issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the storm on top of it all. We just continued to cruise the strip.

Being Away from Technology Adds to It

I'll admit that I'm completely addicted to my phone. I have both my personal life and work life tied into my iPhone 6 and I rarely get away. This trip, I decided to leave my phone behind (for the most part) and not bother at all with anything. My family, and close friends, were already with me so I had nothing to worry about. Give this a try next time, you might be shocked how much it opens up the trip.

Sometimes the Pool is the Place to Be

We spent a lot of time at the pool that was included with the house we rented. That time spent there was even more fun that the experience on the strip. It was a relaxing way to spend the 100 degree days in Vegas before heading out at night. If you ever get the chance, take a day and just hang out by the pool (and don't bring your cell phone anywhere near it). Plus, you don't really lose money at the pool.
