Fisherman’s Close Call with Lightning Strike

Once again, Mother Nature proves that it’s not safe to be on the water during a thunderstorm.

This video, uploaded to Youtube by professional fisherman Tucker-K-Owings shows the awesome, raw power of lightning as it strikes the water a little too close for comfort. In fact, You can actually see the shape of the bolt as it hits the water.

Let’s just say, I would have filled my rubber waders.

He was fishing on Lake Athens in Texas on Saturday when lightning struck directly in front of his boat.

The video, which is only 6 seconds long, serves as a great reminder why we tell the kids to get out of the water when storms are near.
