ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - Fire has destroyed a longtime service station in Aberdeen.

The blaze at Eddie's Northside Sinclair began about 10:30 a.m. Monday. The American News reports that the flames spread quickly but the three workers inside got out safely.

Mechanic Matthew Tutor says the fire started when an air jack lost pressure and a truck's fuel tank fell, hitting a shop light and igniting flames. The fire consumed the business but did not spread to the fuel pumps outside.

Eddie Weber opened the station in 1969. The business is now owned by his son, Randy Weber.
