Though Pixar has yet to formally announce ‘Finding Nemo 2,’ the animation studio is quietly working hard behind-the-scenes to prep for the upcoming sequel. Director Andrew Stanton recently signed a deal to return and now come reports the Ellen DeGeneres is in talks to once again voice the forgetful fish Dory.

DeGeneres hasn’t done much acting since hosting her own daytime talk show but it was her role in the original ‘Finding Nemo’ that brought her universal acclaim and helped resurrect her career.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress/comedienne/talk show host would return for ‘Finding Nemo 2′ as Dory but it’s unclear whether Albert Brooks would return as Marlin. ‘Finding Nemo 2′ is based on an original idea by Stanton, who wrote and directed the original film.

Since Pixar has not yet commented formally on ‘Finding Nemo 2′ there is no official word on when the sequel would hit theaters but considering they have projects scheduled through 2015, it’s likely ‘Finding Nemo 2′ wouldn’t hit theaters until 2016.
