Here's a word that, if you're young you will have no idea what it is....but if you're of a 'certain age', well this will ring a bell in your brain.

Vitalis.

It was back when I wore the skin of about a five or six year old (yes, just a few years back).  We (Dad, Mom, My brother and me) would be up early on a Sunday morning, getting the chores done on out little (80 acres!) farm, finishing up breakfast and getting ready for church.

Mom in her best Sunday dress, my brother and me in our Sunday suits (yes folks, there was a day when all the men and boys wore suit's to church) and Dad in his suit, too.

And then he'd open the bathroom door and we could see him in there splashing something into the palm of his hand and rubbing it over his head.  Then another splash....and another.

Pretty soon, after 'styling' (styling???) with a comb, out he came.

He was all slicked down, just like all the other Dad's would be.

He had put the finishing touches on by using....

Vitalis.

If you watch the old black and white TV shows, you've probably seen character's with Vitalis (or some off-brand) in their hair.  If it's all slicked down and shiny....it's Vitalis.

I can remember standing in front of the church, just before going in, and Mom would have to wipe a drip or two off the side of his head.  That would be right before she licked her Hankie and wiped a smudge off my face.

Slicked down and smellin' good!  Let's head on in and listen to the sermon!
