RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Court documents indicate a fatal shooting in Rapid City earlier this month happened during a drug deal.

Thirty-three-year-old Mark Heinen is accused of shooting 23-year-old Kiawe Walker on June 17. The Rapid City Journal reports that a police report filed in the case alleges Heinen was conducting a drug transaction with Kiawe at the time.

Police say Walker went to a fast food restaurant with a bullet wound and asked employees for help. Emergency workers who responded to the scene were unable to save him. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Heinen was apprehended last Thursday in Colorado. He's awaiting extradition to South Dakota, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
