PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — An exotic dancer serving time in federal prison for income tax fraud has lost her appeal to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Veronica Fairchild, of Canistota, was sentenced in October 2014 to nearly three years in prison for not paying taxes on more than $850,000 earned from exotic dances over four years. She also was ordered to pay almost $215,000 in back taxes.

Fairchild on appeal challenged the evidence supporting her conviction, jury instructions and the length of her sentence.

U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Seiler says the appeals court recently rejected her arguments.
