MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — An all-ages gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts is coming to Mitchell this year.

The Geico Motorcycle Hot Bike Tour powered by Victory Motorcycle has scheduled a stop in Mitchell for September 10th.

Blake Sabers is the owner of Sabers Victory Motorcycles in Mitchell. He tells the Daily Republic the event is comparable to a "one-day Sturgis."

Sabers says he doesn't expect the event to draw as much traffic as the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota, but attendance could reach thousands.

The tour is organized by Hot Bike and Baggers motorcycle magazines. It is a five-day event involving a 1,000-mile journey from Iowa to Montana with a few stops along the way.

Hot Bike's editor-in-chief Jeff Holt says Mitchell was selected in part because of its "old-west feeling."
