Over two nights, two exit ramps will be shut down as part of the widening of Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says two exit ramps will be closed the nights of Monday, April 4, and Tuesday, April 5, at the I-29 and I-229 interchange.

Here is a breakdown of the ramp closures. The I-29 southbound to I-229 northbound ramp and the I-229 southbound to I-29 southbound ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on these nights for the removal of the southbound bridge on I-29.

North and southbound traffic on I-29 will not be affected. Traffic that wants to go south on I-29 from I-229 will have to get off at Louise Avenue and go either north or south to access the controlled access highway.

To access I-229 from I-29, either the 41st Street Exit (77) or the Tea Exit (73) plus a couple of side roads will be necessary. The 2016 portion of the project should be complete by November 4, 2016.
