Eleven Reasons to Visit South Dakota This Summer

The website Travelzoo recently ran a really great article featuring South Dakota and why everyone should consider vacationing here.

The author of the article, Blaire Constantinou, touched upon "the wide, open spaces", "the rolling hills of grassland", and "the starry night sky."

She also wrote about all the great small town diners, and the long list of tourist attractions you can visit.

She even put together a "Top 11 List." Unfortunately though, she only included one attraction east of the Missouri River.

• Deadwood
• Jewel Cave National Park

• The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Reading her story made me proud to be a South Dakotan. We are very, very lucky to be living where we do.

Being a resident of Sioux Falls, however, I do wish she would've spent a little time in the city I proudly call home. I think she would've been pleasantly surprised.

Who knows, maybe she'll see this article and decide to come back to experience and explore all the great vacation spots east of the river.
