Electric Wheelchair plus Alcohol Equals Woman’s Arrest in Pierre

Apparently you can'y take an electric wheelchair on a joyride. A Harrold woman was arrested for her part in the heist.

We must give our friends in Pierre a tip of the hat to this story. Kevin Larsen of KCCR Radio reported that Pierre Police were alerted to the seemingly intoxicated individuals around noontime on Saturday.

Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster said officers found 33-year-old Carla Howe of Harrold, South Dakota in possession of the electric wheel chair near the intersection of Central and Missouri. Police eventually confirmed that it was stolen from the 200 block of N. Euclid about a half mile from where the wheel the wheelchair was found.

Howe was arrested for Grand Theft of an Item over $1,000 and Possession of Stolen Property. She was transported to the Hughes County Jail for booking.
