South Dakota hospitals and clinics have been notified that a person is being monitored by the South Dakota State Department of Health for signs of Ebola.

The person had traveled to West Africa and was being monitored for any signs of the disease.

At this point, there is no cause for concern because the person is being referred to as a low-risk traveler.

Under new CDC guidelines in South Dakota the traveler who just returned from one of the three most infected nations in West Africa must be monitored for three weeks to rule out infection with the deadly disease.

The traveler has yet to exhibit symptoms. The Department of Health says the person has been very cooperative.
