Eagle Creek Software Services, is setting up shop in South Dakota. Reprentatives of the Minnesota based consulting company, Governor Dennis Daugaard, and USD President James Abbott made the announcement Wednesday, March 13th, in Vermillion.

Eagle Creek provides technology information services to Fortune 2000 clients. They provide those services from within the United States. Over the next three to five years, 1000 jobs, paying from $40,000 to $60,000 will be created. The first 200 jobs will be in Vermillion. A partneship with the University of South Dakota is an intregal part of the companies stategy. They need educated information technology workers for their jobs, so scholarships, and career tracks(internships) are part of the mix.

The first full class of students at the USD Eagle Creek IT Consultant Academy will start this fall. A new building for Eagle Creek will be open in 2014.
