This certainly wasn't the way five Sioux Falls residents envisioned spending their noon hour.

Just before 1:00 PM on Monday (October 10), an intoxicated woman driving a Ford Escape proceeded to crash into five parked cars in front of Black Sheep Coffee.

"We had a woman that was driving a Ford Escape near 12th Street and Grange Avenue," according to Police Spokesman Sam Clemens. "She ended up leaving the roadway and hit five different cars before rolling her vehicle. Several witnesses saw her get out of the vehicle and take off. One of them followed her and gave officers updates. They were able to find her nearby. It turns out she was intoxicated and had taken that car without permission from her ex-boyfriend."

According to KDLT News one person sitting inside one of the cars that was struck was treated at a Sioux Falls hospital for minor injuries.

Clemens says 29-year-old Rose Mary Marshall faces numerous charges.

"DWI, reckless driving, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and hit and run charges."

Two eastbound lanes of traffic on 12th street needed to be shut down for a period of time as police investigated, and debris was removed from the street.
