Several inmates in the South Dakota Woman’s Prison were indicted by a Hughes County grand jury on drug related charges.   In early November nine women in the prison showed signs of being under the influence of drugs and tested positive for meth.

38 year old Priscilla Black Spotted Horse and 24 year old Brittany Lee Aguilar were charged with distribution and ingestion. Seven other women were charged with ingestion of a controlled substance:

Shauntel Lashay Shangreaux, 21
Dawn Carla Mesteth, 39
Michaela Rae Mousseau, 36
Sylvia Elizabeth Bordeaux, 29
Mary Francis Sierra, 26
Cassandra Louise Bernard, 36

The indictment charges that on or about between November 3 and November 4, 2015, Black Spotted Horse and Aguilar delivered and distributed methamphetamine to inmates Flute, Shangreaux, Mesteth, Mousseau, Bordeaux, Sierra and Bernard at the South Dakota Women’s Prison and they were all subsequently indicted on ingestion charges based on drug testing done by the South Dakota Health Laboratory.

These individuals are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.  All remain Incarcerated.
