“This one is for my dad,” said an emotion Dusty Ballenger after a hard fought victory. The win was Ballenger’s first in the Dollar Loan Center Outlaw Sprints since 2003. His dad, Steve Ballenger, is a former racer and was reported to be in the hospital.

Ballenger in car #2d took an early lead of the 25 lap feature event until the Buffalo Wild Wings 82 of Roger Crockett assumed the top spot. But as the laps were counting down, Ballenger of Harrisburg used a lower groove to chase down the Oregon native and regain the lead and take the checkered flags.

Crockett was second with Lynton Jeffrey a close third. Mark Dobmeier and Jody Rosenboom completed the top five.

Eric Lutz took the Jeremy Scadden Construction #6 to the second win of the season for that crew in the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop Championship Sprint division.

Darrin Korthals waited for Zach VanVoorst to make one bobble in the Bolte’s Street Stock feature. Korthals capitalized on a small bobble in turn two and took the lead of the event at the white flag. Korthals went on for his fourth win of the year.

Dave Kennedy took the Battery’s Plus #00 to his first win of the year in the B-modifieds. He took over the lead at the half way point of the race.

“This track is perfect,” said Dustin Gulbrandson after he drove his hobby stock #6 from eleventh to his fifth victory of 2014.
