This year I was more concerned with pushing Old Man Winter out than getting my taxes done. And I've never really worried about getting audited.  Have you?

This year the chances are slim.

Budget cuts have overwhelmed the Internal Revenue Service and they're having a difficult time policing tax returns.  In fact if you try and call the IRS to get help, good luck.  Millions of phone calls are going unanswered.

According to the Associated Press interview with IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, last year, the IRS audited less than 1 percent of all returns from individuals, the lowest rate since 2005.  This year, Koskinen said, "The numbers will go down."
