Dolly Parton and Katy Perry had one of the most talked-about performances at this year's ACM Awards, and while the pairing garnered some raised eyebrows, both Parton and Perry impressed with a memorable medley of Parton's hits.

The duo performed "Coat of Many Colors," "Jolene" and "9 to 5" together after Parton was recognized for her NBC made-for-television film Coat of Many Colors and was awarded with the Tex Ritter Award. Both Parton and Perry were dressed in colorful outfits throughout their animated performance, and the audience roared with approval and gave them a standing ovation.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Parton shares her admiration for her duet partner. The country legend even says that she sees much in common with the pop star.

"Katy Perry is a living doll," Parton tells Rolling Stone. "I like her because she is very upfront, open, honest and funny. I like her approach to her music. She's a very talented and serious songwriter and I always appreciate that."

Parton reveals that the ACMs might not have been the last collaboration between the two singers — she hopes to spend more time getting to know Perry.

"I look forward to getting to know her better personally as we have a lot in common ... our love for songwriting and our similar upbringing. It was a joy getting to sing with her on the ACMs," she adds. "I was a hit with my nieces, nephews and my young friends as they can't believe I met Katy Perry. I met a girl and I liked her!"
