Doing Nothing, Michael Jackson Earns $160 Million Last Year

(AP) - Madonna earned $125 million last year, but her paycheck was dwarfed by a guy who didn't do a thing last year.

Forbes magazine reports Michael Jackson earned $160 million over the past year, making him the top-earning dead celebrity in the past year. Most of that comes from two Cirque du Soleil shows, "Immortal" and "One." He also earns a lot from his share of the Sony/ATV catalog that includes songs from The Beatles, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

Elvis Presley is second, with $55 million in earnings. "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz is third, with $37 million. Elizabeth Taylor is fourth, and Bob Marley is fifth.
