I grew up on a small farm near Leota, Minnesota in the Southwest part of Minnesota. I began my radio career at KWYR in Winner, then on to KKAA in Aberdeen, KV91 in Volga/Brookings, a variety of stations in Rapid City and for the last more than a few years in Sioux Falls. I reached the top of the radio food chain that is KXRB in 2007 and haven't been kicked off yet! Join me weekdays from 3-6PM for our three hour afternoon energy drink 'The McDaniel Mess'
My journey began on a farm near Wagner, South Dakota. Eventually I landed at the institution of higher learning in Vermillion. My adult life consists of about 12 years in Yankton and Sioux Falls since 2007. The earliest designs of a career in radio originated from a career day in 6th grade when I was given course offerings to different colleges and the subjects I wanted to pursue were farming and radio. The year was 1989 on a Sunday afternoon in a small room at the Telecom center where I first put a needle on a record
I grew up in Clear Lake, South Dakota. The 60’s and 70’s exposed me to some legendary country music. I continued my appreciation for country music thru the 80’s, 90’s and up to present day. And I've spent a great deal of time studying it. When I sit down to do the KXRB Morning Show each day, I have a library of music that is like nothing else in the world. I have songs spanning over seven decades to play and talk about. Hosting the show is not a job, it’s a thrill
