Did You Know This About Halloween?

Call me a big kid that never really grew up. But, I love Halloween. It's one of my favorite days of the whole year.

We've all went trick-or-treating in the past. Many great memories.

I grew up in Clear Lake, South Dakota, a town of around a thousand people. And I mean my friend and I hit every house. That's a lot of treats.

I'm sure you remember fun times at Halloween also. Here are some interesting things that maybe you didn't know.

In the United States, the first citywide celebration of Halloween was in Anoka, Minnesota in 1921.

Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange is associated with the Fall harvest and black is associated with darkness and death.

Halloween is the 2nd most commercially successful holiday, with Christmas being the first.

Halloween candy sales average about $2 billion annually in the United States and it is the largest candy-purchasing holiday.
