DELMONT, S.D. (AP) — The fire department in Delmont is fully equipped for the first time since a May 10 tornado that devastated the community.

The department lost its fire hall with three fire trucks and a rescue van inside during the Mother's Day twister that damaged or destroyed 84 structures in and around Delmont and injured nine people.

The Daily Republic reports that the fire department now has access to all of the equipment it needs to fight fires, thanks to donations of equipment and money.

The National Weather Service rated the twister as an EF-2, with a peak wind speed of 130 mph.
