Sioux Falls Police Lt. John Duprey says a shoplighting incident ended up in a car chase between Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls.

"There was a report of a shoplighting in Dell Rapids at a department store on Tuesday. While a deputy was there taking information, he discovered that the people involved in the shoplifting were in a stolen vehicle. He put that information out. A short time later a South Dakota Highway Patrolman observed the vehicle and did attempt to stop it. That resulted in the driver of the vehicle fleeing the trooper. Eventually the vehicle came to rest at 31st Street North and Highland Avenue."

Duprey says the driver of the stolen vehicle, 42-year-old Candace LeClair, fled the scene and has not yet been found.

A passenger in the car, 35-year-old Camilee Cournoyer, was charged with petty theft.
